STAGE HOLDUP AT CAMP DAKOTA ENDS IN GIANT EXPLOSION.  THOUSANDS OF COINS FROM GOLD MINE PAYROLL SCATTERED OVER ENTIRE AREA!

Fierce band of outlaws led by notorious outlaw Chief Crooked Finger attacks stage.  Huge explosions results.

Tragedy struck last month at the small mining community of Camp Dakota near Scotts Mills, Oregon.  An undisclosed amount of cash was scattered over a large area as a result of a huge explosion.  Several Wells Fargo stage hands were injured when the stage they were driving exploded.
Witnesses reported the stage was attacked by a number of outlaws while en route to Camp Dakota.  The stage was reportedly delivering a large payroll for the Lucky Strike Mine which was most likely the motivation of the attack.  Stage hand and Wells Fargo employee Hugh Bullseye Jones tells his story in his own words.
"Well I was a ridin' shotgun up top o the stage and we was makin good time.  We had quite a load of cash on that stage, mostly in coins.  The chests were real heavy and I
was plenty nervous carrying all that cash.  We was nearly to the mine when we come around the corner and there was thet band of outlaws led by thet Crooked Finger feller.  They was a whooping and a hollerin and spooking the horses and shoot here and there and I was doin my best to shoot back from the top of that stage.  Well the bottom of thet stage was filled clear up with Dynamite fur the mine with the payroll chests full of coins all stacked on top of it.  One of them outlaws must have shot into them boxes of dynamite cause the next thing I know I was flying through the air and my ears was ringing.  That stage blew clear up and I landed in a tree.  There was coins raining down out of the sky for nearly 5 minutes after that.  Them outlaws all run off after that and I never did find my hat."

Posse volunteers wanted

After repeated attempts to capture Chief Crooked Finger and his band of outlaws, US Marshall, Buford T. Justice has called for posse volunteers to capture the renegades.  Marshall Justice plans to recruit up to 20 men who will be paid $30 and must provide their own horse and a rifle.  "Ammunition will be provided.  This may take a while, so I recommend that you all pack a lunch."  warned Justice.

Wells Fargo hires Pinkertons

After the fifth stage holdup this year, Wells Fargo Company has reportedly hired the Pinkerton Detective Agency to bring the outlaws to justice.   Repeated attempts to capture the notorious criminal by the US Marshalls have spurred Wells Fargo to hire the professionals at Pinkerton for an undisclosed fee.
