  • May I bring my pet?
    Pets are allowed on a leash. Pet owners will be held responsible for their pet and it's actions including noise, property damage, and personal injury.


  • What time is Check in/out?
    Check in time is 2:00 P.M. / Check out time is 12:00 Noon. Guest who wish to arrive earlier or stay later may make arraignments with the campground staff if scheduling allows.


  • What if I want to stay later that my check out time?
    You may park your vehicle in a Day Use area parking spot. Please get a parking pass at the office first.


  • How do I make a reservation?
    To reserve any site you must first pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost of the sites reserved. You may use your Vise/Mastercard/ debit card over the phone or you may pay cash in person. Reservations for yurts require a valid credit card on file. Call 503-873-7432


  • Do you have showers?
    Yes, Camp Dakota has hot showers. They use quarters and the cost is $.25 per minute. We have a 24 hour change machine that takes $1 & $5 bills.


  • Is there electricity?
    Some of our sites have electricity and some don't. Make sure you check when you reserve the site if that is important. There is electricity in the men's and the women's shower room next to the sink.


  • Is there drinking water available?
    Forget the bottled water.The fresh water at Camp Dakota is excellent and tested regularly. Some of our sites have individual water hook-ups and there is a water faucet in or near all of the sites.


  • May I bring my RV or camp trailer?
    Yes. We have lots of sites that can accommodate RV's up to 40' in length. We have water and electrical hook-ups available on a limited basis. Please let us know if you require a hook-up and the length of your RV so that we can find you a suitable site.


  • May I have a campfire?
    All of our sites have fire rings for campfires and we have reasonably priced firewood available. Campfires are usually allowed throughout the summer but are subject to closure by the ODF during times of Extreme Fire Danger. This is very rare.


  • Where is the nearest store or restaurant?
    For major groceries the nearest store is either Roth's in Silverton or Safeway in Molalla. Camp Dakota sells a wide variety of camping items and snacks at the office where you check-in. We even have a complete espresso bar where we serve hot Mochas and Latte's. We do not sell alcohol or tobacco and the nearest convenience store is Scotts Mills Market which is 9 miles away. The nearest restaurant in the Marquam Inn which is 12 miles away on Hwy 213 in Marquam.


  • What is Disc Golf?
    Disc Golf is a game that is played with a Frisbee or special disc. The game is similar to regular golf in that your goal is to throw your disc down a fairway at a target on the opposite end. You count the number of throws it takes you and this is your score. You can play alone or with a group of friends. The course is very challenging and often requires throwing over and around hazards such as trees, brush, and water. Bring your own disc or buy one at Camp Dakota. You may play the course for free when you stay at Camp Dakota.


  • How many people can sleep in a Tee Pee?
    Our Tee Pees have a gravel floor and a fire pit inside. (yes, you can have an open fire inside safely.) How many people that can sleep on the floor greatly depends upon the amount of stuff you bring with you and how friendly you are. A family of four is a good place to start. All of our Tee Pees have room for at least one tent outside.


  • How many people can sleep in a yurt?
    We have two sizes of yurts. A 30' yurt has room enough for 10 people on cots, bunk beds, and hide-a-beds. A 20' yurt has room for 6 people on cots, bunk beds, and hide-a-beds.


  • What comes inside of a yurt?
    Each yurt is slightly different but each yurt has a wood stove for heat, bunk beds, table and chairs, and a propane BBQ with a single side burner for cooking outside. You may bring wood from home for the stove or we have firewood for sale at a reasonable rate. (Each yurt is slightly different. For specific sleeping accomodations, contact us directly for details.)


  • What do I need to bring when I rent a yurt?
    You will need sleeping bags, pillows, cooking utensils, food, flashlight, lantern, firewood (available on site), any other personal items you would take on vacation.


  • What do I need to bring when I rent a tee pee?
    A ground cover, air mattress or foam pad, sleeping bags, food, cooking supplies, lantern, flashlight, etc. You may bring your own firewood or we can provide it at a reasonable price.


  • Do you have firewood?
    Yes, Camp Dakota has firewood available at a reasonable price. (It's cheaper than at the supermarket by a long ways.)
